Sticking together during Giving Day

"Thank You" for participating during Gator Nation Giving Day!

We never back down from helping our UF Health patients, students, faculty and communities.

During the University of Florida’s fifth annual Giving DayGator Nation showcased its commitment and dedication. Gators of all kinds – alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends and families – totaled more than 28,000 gifts for student programs, colleges, research and other causes.

For UF Health, you helped raise $1,858,173.86 across our seven academic health center colleges, including the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville, and three special interest areas. This total contributes to our work in a multitude of ways, including but not limited to:

  • The Ira Robinson Excellence in Diversity Scholarship Fund in the UF College of Pharmacy awards four scholarships to incoming Gator Pharmacists who advocate for diversity and health equity. Carl, ’76, and Joan Allison gave $15,000 to this fund on Giving Day.
  • The Pet Samaritan Fund in the UF College of Veterinary Medicine supplies critical, life-saving care to pets whose families face financial hardship.
  • The UF Health Cancer Fund propels the UF Health Cancer Center forward in its continued pursuit to lead the state of Florida in its unique ability to blend comprehensive patient care and innovative research.
  • The Archer Family Heath Care Facility Fund in the UF College of Nursing offers affordable, comprehensive primary, adult, pediatric, psychiatric and women’s health care to underserved and uninsured residents in Archer, Fla.

The UF College of Medicine raised the third-highest dollar total by UF schools and colleges, collecting $1,215,606.77. Charles and Elise Nail made a generous $1 million gift to the college! Their donation will support a professorship in colorectal cancer.

The colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health and Health Professions hosted events to celebrate Giving Day. The events were headlined by the College of Public Health and Health Professions throwing a Courtyard Carnival with jumbo-sized Jenga and Connect 4.

Thank you to everyone who stood up and showed your Gator goodness!
