Thanks to your continued generosity toward Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, UF Health has purchased three new neurosurgery devices, two DORO LUCENT horseshoes and a Natus quantum amplifier, on behalf of Jason Blatt, M.D., FAANS, a clinical assistant professor in the department of neurology.

The DORO LUCENT horseshoe safely stabilizes a child’s head during surgery, allowing doctors and neurosurgeons to enjoy optimal vision. Equally important is the Natus quantum amplifier. The device records an epileptic patient’s brain waves not only during the surgery but up to two weeks after the operation. Thanks to this purchase, pediatric epilepsy patients will be scheduled for surgery sooner.

Blatt, who is passionate about the care and well-being of children, joined the University of Florida department of neurosurgery as an assistant professor four years ago. He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery.

Thank you for helping us improve care for our youngest patients!
