A family's love for their daughter is helping shape the future of rare disease care and research.

A $1 million gift from Nathan S. Collier and his wife, Ani, along with Ken and Linda McGurn, is accelerating novel mRNA cancer vaccine research.

The Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health received a generous $52,500 gift from ICI Homes for Hope. Made possible by a new home sold in the Oakmont neighborhood, this contribution will support groundbreaking research, provide exceptional patient care, and push the boundaries of treatment for neurological conditions at the Fixel Institute.

Officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony May 16, 2023, the 15,000-square-foot Dorothy Mangurian Neuroimaging Suite features four new specialized imaging machines.

The gift will grow the areas of national and international telemedicine, Alzheimer’s disease clinical research, mental health, traumatic brain injury and ALS.
