During the University of Florida’s fourth annual Giving Day, Gator Nation’s pride and passion were on full display. Gators of all kinds – alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends and families – helped us surpass our goal of more than 26,000 gifts to support student programs, colleges, research and other causes.

For UF Health, you raised $2,665,481.65 across our six academic health center colleges and four areas of special interest. This incredible total will help to fund needs in many ways, including but not limited to:

  • The Dean’s Excellence Fund in the UF College of Nursing, which sponsors an undergraduate student’s white coat, supports faculty development opportunities and provides much-needed equipment in classroom and lab settings.
  • The Dean’s Preeminence Scholarship Fund in the UF College of Medicine, which supports our most promising scholars by allowing them to focus solely on their education and developing integral skills that will set them apart in the field.
  • The UF Health Cancer Fund, which propels the UF Health Cancer Center forward in its continued pursuit to lead the state of Florida in its unique ability to blend comprehensive patient care and innovative research.
  • Dance Marathon at UF, which raises funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. Every dollar stays local and helps to provide critical pediatric equipment, research funding and other program needs for our youngest patients.

The College of Medicine raised the fourth-highest dollar total by UF schools and colleges. The College of Nursing ranked fifth among all schools and colleges in dollar total.

The College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Public Health and Health Professions hosted Pop Out & Give to celebrate Giving Day. The celebration included kettle corn and a special appearance by Beau the therapy dog. Dance Marathon at UF hosted special programming at Plaza of the Americas. Any person who donated to Dance Marathon at UF via Donor Drive received an exclusive magnet designed by Kinsey, one of our CMN Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital ambassadors.

Thank you to everyone who stood up and showed your Gator goodness!
