Dance Marathon participants across the state of Florida who work to raise money for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital gathered in September for the sixth annual “For the Kids Shands Retreat.”

Earlier this month, the annual Extra Life United tournament took place nationally. This event raised more than $80,000 alone for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital!

UF pharmacy students inspired Citrus County Girl Scouts to explore career interest and learn more about the pharmacy profession.

UFCD’s Luisa Echeto, D.D.S., M.S., FACP, a clinical associate professor in the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences Division of Prosthodontics, received a $12,000 educational grant from the American College of Prosthodontics, or ACP, Education Foundation and the Colgate Palmolive Company for her participation in the Prevention, Maintenance and Supportive Care Curriculum Pilot Program.

The UF Medical Guild has awarded grant funding to 14 nonprofit organizations to support communitywide health and wellness projects, including one aimed at helping improve survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest in East Gainesville.

A group of UF College of Medicine students and faculty recently traveled to Florida’s Gulf Coast to help provide medical care to more than 500 patients over the course of two days.

During a ceremony honoring the recipients, the UF Medical Guild awarded grant funding for 14 nonprofit organizations and projects today to support community initiatives, totaling more than $55,000.
