UF Dance Marathon breaks record with $2 million total

The 21st annual Dance Marathon at the University of Florida raised more than $2 million in less than a year – making it the second highest grossing Dance Marathon benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the nation, as well as the fastest to reach $2 million in the history of the program.

More than 800 students stood on their feet in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center for 26.2 hours on March 14 and 15, raising funds and awareness for the pediatric patients at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. The students stand to advocate for children who cannot due to illness, disease or injury, said Tyler Craig, a senior who was dancing in his fourth Dance Marathon. READ MORE »


Hogtown 5K Beer Run

Enjoy a beautiful morning outside on Saturday, April 18 at the Hogtown 5K Beer Run, benefitting the Climb for Cancer Foundation. Hundreds of runners will kick off the Hogtown Craft Beer Festival with this exciting race, winding through park trails and loops in Haile Plantation — and ending with a delicious craft beer at the finish line! With family-friendly refreshments and live music and entertainment, there's something for everyone.

All proceeds benefit the Climb for Cancer Foundation, supporting cancer patients and their families at UF Health. Register online today and get your official Hogtown 5K Beer Run Technical T-shirt. Online pre-registration ends Thursday, April 16th at 8 p.m. Day-of registration opens Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 a.m.


Bike Rodeo and Summer Safety Fair

Discover ways to keep your child safe and healthy this summer with UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and several community partners at the Bike Rodeo and Summer Safety Fair, presented by Kohl's. Kids can participate in interactive games, summer activities and a bicycle obstacle course. Remember to bring your childrens’ bicycles!

30th Annual Celebrity Waiter Night

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Celebrity Waiter Night, we’re throwing an unforgettable party themed “Year of the Champion.” On Monday, May 11 at Touchdown Terrace, attendees will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, followed by live performances with motivational songs. Guests will also hear from Children’s Miracle Network ambassador families as they share their stories of strength and hope.

Celebrity Waiter Night is one of the most entertaining and fun-filled annual events benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital. With more than 8,500 children treated last year, UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is a leading referral system for kids in the state of Florida and throughout the Southeast. Your support enables us to further advancements in research, invest in lifesaving medical equipment and provide a wide range of services that might not otherwise be possible.
