After an extensive overhaul, we’re thrilled to reopen Unit 44 of UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. This top-to-bottom renovation features upgrades with each of our youngest patients in mind. Some of the major changes include:
- All-new private patient rooms — research shows it boosts healing and helps our care teams focus
- Fresh furnishings, smart lighting and latest tech TVs, plus sleeper sofas with built-in tech for families
- Dedicated family gathering rooms and two tech-equipped playrooms for little ones
- Interactive heat walls where you can leave your mark and beautiful new collaboration spaces
- Every detail designed with healing and teamwork in mind
With Unit 45’s renovation now on deck, this transformation would not happen without the generosity of our donors. We’d like to send a heartfelt thank you to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, who committed $5 million toward this initiative!
A special thank you to our donors who attended a ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate this milestone:
- The James M. Cox Foundation Cox Enterprises
- Flad Architects
- Opus Coffee
- Dr. T Kirk Garner and Mrs. Mary Garner
Thank you to our community for all you do to support our talented health care providers and patients. When our community comes together, incredible things happen!
