Children’s Miracle Network Events

The following annual events support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Hospital for Children (check out the photos below!):

Celebrity Waiter Night: Celebrity Waiter Night is one of the most entertaining and fun-filled annual events!. Since 1986, Celebrity Waiter Night has raised more than $2.7 million!  Enjoy a casual night of dining, socializing, and exceptional performances by several UF Health departments.

Fishing For Kids:  Raising more than $70,000 in its eight years, Fishing For Kids is an annual saltwater trout tournament held in Steinhatchee, FL.  This family-friendly event encourages both youth and adult anglers to compete in an all-day fishing tournament and features a raffle, fish fry, trophies and prizes for the Kids category and a guaranteed payout for tournament winners!

Dance Marathon (UF): Dance Marathon at UF is a yearlong commitment from more than 1,500 students to raise money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network. The event culminates with the weekend celebration where more than 800 dancers stay awake and on their feet for 26.2 hours.

Dance Marathon (FSU): These students “Give a weekend, Save a Life” to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and the FSU College of Medicine’s pediatric outreach programs. In 2009, DM at FSU transitioned from a 32-hour event to a 40-hour event consisting of two 20-hour shifts.

Radiothon: Radiothon for Kids is a six-week online fundraising campaign culminating in a 12-hour on-air Radiothon celebration. This event receives a great deal of community involvement from Radio Personalities, UF Health employees, volunteers, CMN Ambassador families and sponsors. In its 11 years, Radiothon for Kids has pledged more than $2.2 million.

Belt Buckle Ball: Belt Buckle Ball is presented by a committee of Tallahassee residents committed to raising funds and awareness for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in an effort to maintain the bridge to Gainesville for Tallahassee’s local kids.  The event features entertainment, funny-money poker, corn-hole games and an outdoor seated dinner.

National Pancake Day: Proceeds from seven IHOP locations in North Central Florida benefit our local hospital.  Guests are given a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes and encouraged to make a donation.

Log a Load: The Log A Load for Kids Ride for Miracles is a wonderful opportunity for the forestry family and beyond to get together for a day of fun and fellowship and join in a worthy cause – helping children from your community! Ride for Miracles is a 26 Mile +/- ride through the beautiful terrain of the South Georgia Amsterdam Tree Farm and incorporates a “Poker Run” along your way.
