Ambassador Highlight: Meet Arden

Arden Thornbury is a miracle in all definitions of the word.

She was born prematurely at 32 weeks, becoming extremely ill at just 6 weeks old. Doctors in the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit discovered that her heart had grown to take up 75 percent of her chest cavity and was crushing her lungs.

IHOP Miracle Balloon Campaign kicks off Feb. 1

Consider this a delicious fair warning: The annual IHOP Miracle Balloon Campaign starts next month at IHOP restaurants, culminating in the always-popular National Pancake Day on March 7.

If you’d like to make a difference for kids while munching on pancakes, visit any area IHOP restaurant and purchase a balloon icon for $1. Even better, purchase one for $5 and receive a $5 coupon off your next meal! Proceeds and donations from these local IHOP restaurants are supporting UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

Feb. 17

2nd Annual Daddy Daughter Dance | Hosted by 98.5 KTK and presented by Cloud 9 Spa and Salon, Grins & Giggles Pediatric Dentistry and Thornebrook Chocolates, save the date for an unforgettable night of magic for dads and daughters at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Sweetwater Branch Inn in Gainesville. Feb. 24-26

FSU Dance Marathon | The yearlong fundraising effort culminates into a 40-hour event where more than 1,800 students stay awake and on their feet to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. 

 

March 7

IHOP National Pancake Day | Last year, IHOP raised more than $3.9 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals — the most successful National Pancake Day ever! Yum!

 

March 25-26

Dance Marathon at UF | Now older than most of its participants, the 22nd annual DM at UF was the most successful student-run philanthropy in the southeastern United States. Join the movement as they work to make bigger and better miracles for the kids!

 

April 8

OwlThon at FAU | As the fastest-growing Dance Marathon program in the country, OwlThon is proud to hold its fourth annual event this spring. Get involved in the movement!

 

April 9

UF Health Celebrity Gridiron Challenge | We are pleased to announce our inaugural Celebrity Gridiron Challenge benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital. This two-day event will feature a flag football tournament with celebrity appearances and a VIP celebration.
