Siblings Emma and Nate Ferrell, Children’s Miracle Network Florida Champion, are all smiles at the 2016 Celebrity Waiter Night.

The grand finale for Celebrity Waiter Night took place on Monday, May 9 at Touchdown Terrace at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Throughout the evening, guests reminisced about three successful decades of fun-filled, entertaining fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network. Videos of past employee performances and photos from past events filled the room.

UF Health Shands Chief Executive Officer Ed Jimenez thanked current sponsors and recognized organizations that have given consistently for five, 10 and 15-plus years. Employees who have dedicated themselves to the event since its inception were also recognized.

The Neira Family shared their experiences at UF Health and the impact that UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital had on their daughter, Izabella, who received a heart-lung transplant at just 12 months old. Izabella’s mother, Krystina, talked about the exceptional care and state of the art equipment at UF Health that kept Izabella alive.

Since 1986, the annual event has raised more than $3.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. This year Celebrity Waiter Night closes out a successful run, raising more than $220,000 for Children’s Miracle Network.
