Special Delivery from Walmart

Walmart stores donate 103 red wagons filled with necessity and diversionary items to UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital pediatric patients.

Walmart Wagon

Eight Tallahassee area Walmart stores and their associates will visit UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital Tuesday, June 24 with a gift of 103 red wagons, decorated and filled with items for the pediatric patients treated at UF Health Shands. These Walmart items, ranging from books and games to laundry detergent and gift cards, will go directly to Child Life – the UF Health Shands program aimed to help children and families cope with the stress and anxiety of hospitalization.

The Walmart Heart Truck, a full-size semi-truck, will transport the wagons, and Walmart associates will unload and present them to the hospital. Each store will select one wagon to include in a decorating contest, of which CMN Florida champion, Nate Ferrell, and one of our pediatric physicians will help judge. In addition to the wagons, the stores will present Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals with a check representing the funds raised throughout their six-week campaign.

Please join CMN in welcoming these associates and their managers from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the UF Health Shands off-site storage facility (1120 SW 6th St.), where we will celebrate their gifts!
