A time for giving thanks
With 63 stores and almost 1,000 associates, Walmart and Sam’s Club have collectively raised more than $575,000 in 2012 for Shands Hospital for Children at the University of Florida, most of it $1 at a time. From bake sales to car washes, pies in the face and “kiss the pig,” these associates are making miracles happen every day.
Walmart was the first-ever national Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner, and has raised more than $600 million for 170 partner hospitals across the United States and Canada since 1982. In addition to fundraisers within the store, their associates volunteer their time and in-kind donations to Radiothons, Dance Marathons, golf tournaments and many other events throughout the year.
Thank you to Walmart for its continued commitment to the thousands of children they help each and every day, and particularly to those they help in our local community!
