Human Race brings in money for Shands Jacksonville Bone and Joint Institute

On May 7, the Shands Jacksonville Bone and Joint Institute participated in The Human Race 2011 hosted by HandsOn Jacksonville. This event allows local non-profit agencies the opportunity to participate in the run/walk and raise funds for their organization. Eighteen team members including Shands Jacksonville staff, friends and family members participated in the 5K and one-mile events. Staff also were on hand to share information about the Bone and Joint Institute.

In addition to contacting friends and family for donations, the Bone and Joint Institute also had several bake sales. The team raised more than $1,500. Proceeds will be used to support updates to the patient-care areas.
